Dangerous Weapons

I was just at the student center. I read the Rutgers newspaper while eating my french fries.

I must say that this newspaper sucks ass. The student paper at OU was much, much better. The OU paper had mostly well-written articles AND the New York Times crossword puzzle. Any paper with the New York Times crossword puzzle is good in my book.

And the OU paper had controversy. My senior year in undergrad, a group of student organizations put together a reading of The Vagina Monologues on the traditional Valentine's Day date.

Prior to Valentine's Day, there were many chalk announcements on the sidewalks stating the name of the play, the place and date.

One boy wrote to the paper that he was offended that there were so many instances of the word vagina on the sidewalks. Apparently vagina is a dirty word.

But that's not the best part. A few days after the boy's letter, the paper printed a point, counter-point set of editorials about gun control. The boy advocated no gun control while the female advocated increased gun control.

A professor wrote to the paper. The gist of his letter was that the female was an idiot for advocating gun control because she is allowed to walk around with an unregistered, dangerous weapon.

That unregistered, dangerous weapon...why that would be her vagina.

Much hullabaloo ensued...now that's a student newspaper.
