Menstrual goddess

When I was an undergrad I took this course that focused on the fluid sociallly constructed nature of gender and sexuality. One day we were talking about the barrage of women's "diseases" like PMS and PMDD.

One woman in the class stated that every month when she gets her period she feels like a goddess. I didn't understand that now...and I don't understand it now.

Because, frankly all I get out of the experience is terrible headaches and backaches and unbelievably bad cramps. But, I'd love to get the goddess feeling.
