Ratproofing

I luckily got to spend some quality time with the BOCA National Building Code yesterday.

Good times.

There is actually an entire section dedicated to ratproofing buildings.

It addresses such things as what to do with open spaces and metal aprons and my favorite...the installation of ratproof shields.

But the real question is...

Do these ratproofing measures defend someone's humble abode against those clever yet deviant animals known as squirrels?

I've heard that they break into some people's apartments and eat their fruit.

But I'm not sure that I actually believe it.
